Prism Kombucha is a local small business founded in 2017. Our kombucha is made in small batches using organic teas and Canadian wild-foraged ingredients to make a healthy, unique and delicious beverage. We’re looking for a Packaging Assistant that will help us meet & exceed quality standards and customer expectations.

Part time (approximately 24 h/week) position starting early May 2024
Remuneration: starting at 15.30$/h
Address and work location: Unit 5 - 911 Dugald road, Wpg. MB.
Duration of contract: Seasonal work ending in late-October with potential for winter hours.
Duties and responsibilities
Assisting with packaging operations, including preparation of packaging materials, and operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of an automated canning line.
Delivery of product to local vendors using company vehicle
Assisting in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of brewing ingredients, packaging materials, and finished products.
Following standard operating procedures (SOPs), record keeping, and safety protocols to maintain internal quality standards, food safety requirements, and a safe working environment.
Opportunity to learn and to assist in the brewing process, including cleaning and sanitizing equipment, preparing ingredients, mixing batches, and monitoring fermentation parameters.
Cleaning and sanitizing production equipment and work areas to maintain hygiene, prevent contamination, and ensure proper maintenance of equipment.
Qualifications and requirements
Valid class 5 drivers license
Candidate should be able to repeatedly lift up to 20 lbs and work standing up for extended durations of time;
Experience in brewing, fermentation or food & beverage operations is an asset;
Background or interest in science (biology) is an asset;
Bilingualism (English & French) is an asset.
Training and certification
If not already completed, the selected applicant will be required to complete the following online training courses during their work hours:
Food Handler’s Certification;
Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS).
Prism Kombucha will also provide additional training on operating procedures. All training will be completed during working hours.
